Michigan-Native Billy Strings Wins GRAMMY Award
Michigan-born and raised musician, Billy Strings, has just secured the most prestigious award in the music industry, a GRAMMY Award from the Recording Academy!
The Ionia, Mich. native, now residing in Nashville, Tenn., released the award-winning album “Home” in late 2019 which quickly rose to the top of the Billboard bluegrass chart after its release.
The album which was nominated for best bluegrass album was produced by East Lansing’s Glenn Brown and Billy Strings. Other nominees in the category included Danny Barnes (“Man on Fire”), Thomm Jutz (“To Live in Two Worlds, Vol. 1), Steep Canyon Rangers (“North Carolina Songbook”) and Various Artists (“The John Hartford Fiddle Tune Project, Vol. 1).
Billy Strings was previously honored as guitar player of the year and new artist of the year at the International Bluegrass Music Awards.
