Arts & Culture Professionals to Participate in Virtual Cultural Advocacy Day

Arts & Culture professionals, passionate patrons, donors and community champions will gather on March 11 & 12, 2021 for the second annual Cultural Advocacy Day hosted and coordinated by the Cultural Advocacy Network of Michigan. With a focus on fueling and inspiring advocates to speak at every level of government on the needed support of arts & culture, Cultural Advocacy Day is an annual gathering to learn about the current policy issues within the sector, and for this event, speak with members of the state legislator.

Cultural Advocacy Day kicks off on Thursday, March 11 with a webinar hosted on Zoom to discuss the logistics for this years virtual legislative day, and share key talking points for all advocates across the state.

Thursday, March 11th

9:00 AM – 10:30 AM | Kickoff Webinar

During the kickoff, we will walk through all the logistics and talking points that will be discussed during the legislative meetings which will occur the following day.


Friday, March 12th 

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM         Legislative Meetings

All meetings will be virtual. Each attendee will receive a link to be able to join the meeting prior to the event. Kelley Cawthorne will arrange all appointments with legislators for individual members of each association. Please note that legislative visits are sometimes difficult to secure and all visits are coordinated to the best of the staff’s ability.
