Lebowsky Center for Performing Arts Seeks to Sell Out Theater
The Lebowksy Center of Performing Arts is launching an initiative to sell out The Big Lebowsky in an effort to raise funds during the COVID-19 shutdown of live performances. The organization which would historically present its winter musical at the end of February is seeking the support of the community and its patrons to help keep the lights on, staff employed and in preparation for a bright re-opening when they can resume performances in Downtown Owosso. Individuals will be able to purchase tickets in their desired seat which goes on sale Monday, Feb. 1 for Members and Friday, Feb. 5 for the general public at just $25 a seat.
Although each ticket will not result in a theatrical performance like a typical show, patrons instead will receive a commemorative postcard with a photo of one of the Lebowsky Center’s previous productions and a note from one of the organization’s local actors.
“Purchasing a ticket for this initiative is a way to pay tribute to the live performing arts experiences we were unable to enjoy this year,” said Kathy Brooks, Lebowsky Center Executive Director. “Our performers are very eager to get back on the stage to entertain our patrons, but in the meantime, we need to continue to meet our expenses without our typical revenue opportunities, and The Big Lebowsky is a unique way to engage our very loyal patrons.”
The group hopes to sell every seat as if these tickets were for an actual performance. To support this initiative, tickets can be purchased for The Big Lebowsky online at lebowskycenter.com or by calling the Box Office at 989-723-4003 where they are accepting cash, credit card and even ShiaCash.
